The Knowledge Economy Programme

The knowledge economy is the story of how new technologies combine with human brainpower to transform the basis of economic activity.
The Work Foundation is running a three year, £1.4 million research initiative to better understand the knowledge economy, the largest of its kind in Europe. It will finish in April 2009.
The Work Foundation’s research looks at many issues surrounding the knowledge economy – spanning economic theory, occupational change, outsourcing, trade, globalisation, innovation, R&D and education and skills. The ultimate hope is to gain insight and better understanding as to how the way we work and the changing economy project into the social, corporate and political worlds.
